多樣寡家蟻 / 多樣擬大頭家蟻 體型相差懸殊不免讓我懷疑是來自不同家族，但事實卻不是我以為的那樣。他們可是真真正正的是一家人阿。 多樣擬大頭家蟻為單蟻后型，成熟蟻巢多由1只具生殖能力蟻后、數百隻的兵蟻及數千隻的工蟻組成。普遍分佈於平地至低海拔山區，南部地區較多見，喜歡棲息日照充足的地面或草叢，常見成群的工蟻與兵蟻一起出現，有些工蟻會爬到兵蟻背上。 特化兵蟻：特化級兵蟻在蟻群中的地位是相對較高的，扮演著幫忙狩獵及分裂食物的角色，頭部異常寬大，強力的咬合上鄂，不成比例的身體，體長約13-15mm具發達的大顎，頭背上有一條明顯的縱向溝紋，後緣截平，後胸末端有一對棘刺，兇猛以強大的咬合力，一但被咬會造成皮膚裂傷但不具蟻酸的毒性。 工蟻：以搬運、守衛為任務，抵禦蟻巢外來的敵人，工蟻的數量遠遠多於兵蟻，蟻巢內外的大小事都需要他們的分工，是群落中重要的角色。

Carebara diversa/ pheidologeton diversus – their disparity in body shapes inevitably made me suspect that they were from different families, but the fact was not how I expected. They are, in fact, one family. Carebara diversa is a type of ant with only one single queen. Most developed nests consist of one reproductive queen, hundreds of soldier ants, and thousands of worker ants. It is generally distributed in flatlands to low-altitude mountain areas, and is more common in the southern regions. They like to inhabit the ground or grassland with sufficient sunshine. It is common to see swarms of worker ants appearing along with soldier ants, and some worker ants will climb onto the soldier ants' back. Specialized soldier ants: Specialized soldier ants have a relatively high status in the ant colony. They play a role in helping hunting and splitting food. They have unusually wide heads, strong upper biting jaws, disproportionate bodies, and body lengths about 13-15mm with a well-developed big jaw. There is an obvious longitudinal groove on the back of the head with its edge truncated. There is also a pair of spines at the back of the chest. Their powerful bite will cause severe skin laceration but without formic acid toxicity. Worker ants: With the task of moving and guarding, they can defend against enemies from outside the ant colony. There are far more worker ants than soldier ants. Both the inside and outside of the ant nest require their division of labour, so they play an important role in the community.
